Go Bee Zap Essay correction

The essay comes back with a grade. And the reason for every lost point.

AI-assisted correction across the five competencies of ENEM, Brazil's national university entrance exam — read together with every previous essay, because the mistake that keeps coming back only shows up when someone looks at the whole stack. The student, the teacher and the family each get a report written for them.

One real student, ten essays

A strong writer, stuck in the same place for ten essays.

A student at a partner prep school, name withheld. Ten essays, all graded by humans, all between 880 and 960 out of 1000. Each one, on its own, looked good. Read together, they told a different story.

908average across ten essays — none below 880
160in Competency 1, in all ten. Not a single exception
87%of every point he lost sits in two competencies: C1 and C3
27%of the grader's 88 marks come from just two spelling rules

Where the points went

C1 written standard · 440 pts C3 argumentation · 360 pts C2, C4 and C5 · 40 pts each — already at the top, don't train

“vê-se os caminhos”ENEM · C1Verb agreement with a plural subject“veem-se os caminhos”

Examples stay in Portuguese, the language of the exam.

What the human grader could not see

55%

of his supporting references were recycled from one essay to the next.

None of the ten human graders mentioned it. Not out of carelessness: a grader reads one sheet at a time and carries no history. It only surfaced because Go Bee Zap read all ten together.

Milton Santos — the same quotation on the media4×
Hippocrates — the same line on health4×
UN — the same inequality statistic3×

It had not cost him points yet. But the exam topic is unknown in advance — and on the one topic where his ready-made references did not fit, he got his lowest C2 score of the ten.

Three reports, three readers

The same data, in the language of whoever has to act

The student gets what to change in the next essay. The teacher gets the pattern. The family gets three questions for the dinner table. Everyone follows along on the Go Bee Zap platform and gets updates by email and WhatsApp.

For the studentDirect, no jargon

“First: you write well.”

Three competencies are already at the top — don't spend time there. What doesn't move is the language score. For the next three essays:

  1. Five minutes at the end, checking only accents and contractions.
  2. Ban two authors: if the usual quotation shows up, replace it.
  3. Swap the thesis that lists for a thesis that explains.

It closes with a pocket checklist: “keep this and read it before your next essay”.

For teachers and coordinatorsNever shown to the student

“This is not a learning curve. It is a plateau with noise.”

Average 908, standard deviation of 31 points. All 88 marks classified, the mistakes ranked by return per hour of teaching — and, just as important, what not to train.

  1. Accents and contractions: 24 marks, keeping C1 at 160.
  2. Plural agreement: the same mistake in four essays.
  3. Deeper arguments: C3, where he has already dropped to 120.

Every finding cites the official grader-training module that supports it.

For the familyWhat to do at home

“In ten essays, he never scored below 880.”

No competency codes, no acronyms. Progress, the year's goal and three habits that fit into daily life:

  1. Ask him: “who did you quote today?”
  2. Insist on five minutes of checking accents only.
  3. Ask him to explain the essay out loud. When he states something, ask “so what?”.

The family becomes the teacher's ally — in the language of home, not of school.

Route to 1000

92 points to go. Eighty of them sit in two competencies.

The report never says “write better”. It says where every missing point is and what unlocks it.

C1

Written standard: from 160 to 200

Get down to two deviations at most. Accents and contractions account for 24 of the 88 marks — mechanical, teachable, the best return per hour of study.

+40
C3

Argumentation: from 160 to 200

Replace the thesis that lists with one that analyses, and add one concrete example per paragraph. His fixed template leaves no room for either.

Students who reach 1000 usually write 35 to 50 essays while preparing. It is not talent, it is repetition — and it is what the follow-up measures, essay by essay.

How the correction works

Grounded in official guidelines. Honest about its limits.

Correction uses AI anchored in the official training modules for ENEM graders — every finding cites the guideline behind it.

It is not the official grade, and the report says so on its first page. Checked against human graders, it matched 14 of 19 findings: it is strongest on what is mechanical and verifiable, which is why the teacher stays at the centre of what is rhetorical and a matter of judgement.

Built for Brazil · ready for yours

ENEM today. Your national exam tomorrow.

The competency model behind the correction is not tied to ENEM. The same approach — levels per competency, every finding backed by an official guideline, three reports — can be adapted to another country's exam, rubric and language.

Questions

What partners ask first

Does it only work for ENEM?

Today the rubric follows the five competencies of ENEM and Brazil's national curriculum (BNCC). The engine is competency-based, so the rubric can be configured for another country's exam and grading criteria.

Is the grade official?

No. It is AI-assisted grading grounded in official guidelines, designed for practice. Official grades only come from the exam itself.

How accurate is it?

Checked against human graders, it matched 14 of 19 findings. It is strongest on what is mechanical and verifiable; argumentation and judgement stay with the teacher.

How is student data protected?

In Brazil, data is handled under the LGPD and the child-protection statute (ECA), and each report reaches only the people it concerns. Deployments in other countries can be configured for local law, including the GDPR.

Which languages does the platform support?

Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
